I will be going to Oman in the next two weeks, planning to fly to Dubai, then by bus to Muscat to save costs. Anyone knows the name of bus terminal in Dubai handling departures for Oman ? And how to get there from Dubai Int`l Airport ?

The buses depart from opposite Al Riqqa road near the 'Al Bassam' center. You can see the buses standing in a line. Ask the taxi drivers if u dont know.
They depart at 6:00 am everyday and 4:30 pm every day.
You dont need to buy in advance just go there and u can buy on the bus.
Hope this helps. I take the bus very often nearly once a month from Oman to dubai and back.

Aqualung I have sent bulk of e-mails to ONTC but they dont bother to reply... Dubai-Salalah route as from what I was informed is commonly overbooked and one has to reserve weeks before departure to secure even a seat.

Why you wanna go direct from Dubai to Salalah, pick up a choice either ONTC but would recommend Al Khanjar or Comfort Line to Muscat. Then after a while you can organize a tour for Salalah without any hustle.

Well, you go to dubai airport and when you leave from the exit door take a cab which will cost you 40dirhams(they start the meter at 30) tell him to take you to DANATA.
Bussess: different companies there: Oman National transport and 3-4 others if no more.
I know that there r bussess leaving from oman to dubai at 6:30,7:30,between 3-5pm 2 busses.
You have to check the timings but a retun ticket costs 9-10rials
